Katie C’etta | Actor Highlight | Meet the Cast | UNWAVERING

Posted on Posted in Actor Highlight, UNWAVERING

Today we begin our UNWAVERING Actor Highlight series with the amazing Katie C’etta.

Screen Shot 2017-01-23 at 12.12.54 PM

The role Katie played in UNWAVERING was Sarah. Sarah is the lead character in UNWAVERING and Katie nailed everything about the role! Sarah’s character is modest and strong willed when it comes to her beliefs.  When Katie auditioned, she embodied the persona and took the character to another level that I would have never dreamed of.  While filming UNWAVERING, Katie worked extremely hard to stay in character and was flawless with her performance.

Here’s the link to Katie’s site that showcases her many talents and blog posts: http://www.katiecetta.com/

These are the questions we asked Katie:

MPF: What was your favorite part of filming for UNWAVERING?

Katie: My favorite day on Unwavering was the day we shot all the prom scenes. It was so special being able to dress up like we were attending the prom! My character had a very unique prom experience and it was so fun being able to make that come to life!

MPF: What’s your favorite role you’ve ever played?

Katie: My favorite character that I’ve ever played is definitely Sarah. She’s the character I’ve spent the most time with and the character that I connected to most easily. She seems to be a very mild mannered and shy person but her determination to stay true to herself when it comes to her beliefs is something that she and I have in common. With Sarah I let my guard down and really aimed to feel everything she was feeling and stay true to that. It was an exciting and fulfilling experience that taught me so much about myself through this character.

MPF: Which actor(s) inspire you?

Katie: Some of my favorite actresses that I look up to and am inspired by most are Julianne Moore, Amy Adams, and of course the Queen ?Meryl Streep for their unique and mind blowing talent.

MPF: What’s your favorite movie of all time?

Katie: The Lord of the Rings the Fellowship of the Ring is my favorite movie of all time. The trilogy is actually what got me into filmmaking. When I was 9 years old I spent all of my free time researching how these films were made down to the very last details. My first monologue ever performed was Cate Blanchette’s opening monologue which I proudly performed to my bright eyed and bushy tailed fellow acting camp attendees when I was 10 years old. ? It was special.

MPF: What are a couple of your hobbies?

Katie: I really love traveling. I’m the type of person who gets anxious if I stay in one place for too long. I believe it was Cate Blanchette who advised to travel often so that you have lots of experiences to feed back into your work. I’ve also recently taken up photography! I typically photograph my friends, family and of course my beautiful dog. I also design jewelry made out of chain, leather and vintage nails.

MPF: What made you interested in acting?

Katie: I first became interested in acting after seeing the LOTR films as I explained above. Something about being able to create a world entirely different than reality and make it come to life was extremely appealing to me. Over the years that fascination shifted from fantasy to recreating more realistic stories. This craft allows me to think and feel like human beings other than myself and give life to characters that otherwise would only exist on a page. It’s really a very special privilege.

MPF: Favorite color?

Katie: My favorite color is gray, like the sky before a thunderstorm.

MPF: Who is your favorite character in the UNWAVERING film?

Katie: Is it narcissistic to say Sarah? I think she’s a very special character in the film but if I had to pick a second I would choose Aaron for being such a dreamboat and always saying and doing the right thing for Sarah when she needs it. Not to mention he’s the type of guy to take risks and help those who can’t help themselves.

MPF: Do you have any advice for aspiring actors?

Katie: I think the best advice that I could give an aspiring actor is to believe in yourself, keep your confidence and most importantly do the work. Break a leg!

Thank you again, Katie, for the incredible performance! For information about the Grand Premiere of UNWAVERING be sure to sign up for the newsletter here: www.menningphotographicfilms.com/newsletter

Jason Klingensmith | Actor Highlight | MEET THE CAST | UNWAVERING

Posted on Posted in Actor Highlight, UNWAVERING

We continue our UNWAVERING Actor Highlight series today with Jason Klingensmith.

The role Jason played in UNWAVERING is Man in Doorway. As the name of the character states, he is the barrier and enforcer of the terrorists; no need for an actual name. As soon as Jason stepped into the auditions his size alone was an intimidating factor.  Standing at 6’2″ and a solid, muscular build, he definitely had the look. He delivered his lines and I immediately knew he was the person for this role.

During filming, we were mostly in a warehouse with no AC and the temperatures outside were around 95 degrees. With the gear the terrorists were wearing sweat poured out of their sleeves when they would lower their guns. These guys were troopers!

Jason’s performance was incredible and he transformed into this sly, intimidating tyrant that kept everyone on their toes.

Jason also enjoys screenwriting and has a webseries called “Rivals.” You can watch the hilarious episodes here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOOJ2T4I3f9YqjSya2mkz_w and check out his IMDB page

Screen Shot 2017-02-14 at 4.25.20 AM

Here are the questions we asked Jason:

MPF: What was your favorite part of filming for UNWAVERING?

Jason: It certainly wasn’t the wardrobe in the warehouse, but I think I lost a few pounds that week.  There were so many wonderful, talented people that it was a pleasure to be on set with.  We had a lot of fun behind the scenes, between takes, talking about our favorite movies, our goals and ambitions, etc.  I’ve been on a handful of indie sets, and this was by far the most professional, efficient, and well organized set I’ve had the pleasure of working on.  I also gained several new friends.  Kind of hard to top that.

MPF: What’s your favorite role you’ve ever played?

Jason: I don’t have one particular favorite role. I try to learn something from every role I play and improve myself as an actor.  I did enjoy playing Man in Doorway, though, and it was nice to be able to lock into the character and film it in succession in a relatively short amount of time.  I’ve had roles in the past where I’ve played one character, but it’s been stretched over the course of a summer, filming every couple of weekends, and it can be difficult to get back to that character to you were on set 3 weeks ago.  Especially if you’ve done any work in between.

MPF: Which actor(s) inspire you?

Jason: There may not be a better, more inspiring, piece of inspiration than the Jim Carrey speech from the MUM Commencement Address in 2014. There are a lot of actors that inspire me, and that I admire a great deal. Some of my favorites are Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Tom Hanks, and Terrence Howard.

MPF: What’s your favorite movie of all time?

Jason: A couple all time favorites are Monster Squad, Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle, and the original Halloween, as I tend to watch more comedy and horror than anything. But my all time favorite film is probably Forrest Gump.

MPF: What are a couple of your hobbies?

Jason: I love to play sports, any sport really, baseball, basketball, football, volleyball, softball, tennis, etc. and I’ve gotten into mud runs in recent years, which are a lot of fun.  I also enjoy watching movies and playing video games. And I love screenwriting.  I’ve completed three features, one short, and several episodes of a web series, and have several more in the works.

MPF: What made you interested in acting?

Jason: I always wanted to act, but really had no idea of how to go about it, especially living in Ohio, and I was too shy to try drama in high school.  Fast forward to adulthood and I’m getting laid off from a job as Treasurer of a steel mill where I’ve been for almost 6 years.  That layoff led me to go to the open call for Captain America: The Winter Soldier.  I ended up getting cast as a background SHIELD Agent, and a fire was lit.  I truly caught the bug.  I started doing more extra work, started working on student films, and eventually started booking indie films.  I have a long ways to go to get where I want to be, but I have truly fallen in love with acting and filmmaking, and really found my passion in life in the process.

MPF: Favorite color?

Jason: A tie between blue and green, with purple a close third.

MPF: Who is your favorite character in the UNWAVERING film?

Jason: I think any of the girls in captivity.  It’s easy to root for them.  In the face of adversity, they could have just laid down and given up, but they chose to dig deep, find the courage within themselves, and fight their way out.

MPF: Do you have any advice for aspiring actors?

Jason: Perhaps the best acting advice I ever got, I didn’t even realize until a couple years after I got it.  A director of one the first films I worked on, Cleanland, told me “don’t act… be”.  It hit me a year or so down the road, when I realized what exactly he meant.  If your character is angry in the scene, don’t act angry, be angry, if you character is sad in the scene, don’t act sad, be sad.  Use whatever you have within yourself to bring those emotions to the surface.  I would also say, if you want to be an actor, practice every chance you get.  Act out scenes from your favorite movies, take drama class, audition for student films, don’t be afraid to do extra roles in major productions just to see what it feels like to be on a big set, and really just never give up.  There is a lot of rejection in the process of acting and trying to become an actor, but treat every job, every audition, as an experience from which to learn something.

Thank you, Jason, for your intimidating performance! For information about the Grand Premiere of UNWAVERING be sure to sign up for the newsletter here: www.menningphotographicfilms.com/newsletter

Nicholas Baronzzi | Actor Highlight | Meet the Cast | UNWAVERING

Posted on Posted in Actor Highlight, UNWAVERING

Today on the UNWAVERING Actor Highlight series we are featuring the one and only Nicholas Baronzzi.Screen Shot 2017-01-25 at 6.03.54 AM

The role Nick played in UNWAVERING was Yusaf. Yusaf is a terrorist and a complex character; charismatic at first then cold and detached.  Nick will literally do anything to get the best take possible. Whether that’s sweating in military gear for hours or falling on his face onto concrete, he goes all out with no remarks.  After Nick’s performance in Gretchen’s Lock and seeing his auditions for UNWAVERING, there’s no doubt that I wanted him to be a part of this project.

Screen Shot 2017-01-25 at 6.14.09 AM

These are the questions we asked Nick:

MPF: What’s your favorite role you’ve ever played?

Nick: Play acting in high school was a lot of fun. Being able to feel and feed off the energy of a live audience is an electric thing. As far as film, portraying Jason in Gretchen’s Lock was relaxed and memorable. I overheard some kids at the premiere hoping that I wouldn’t die—that was nice.

MPF: Which actor(s) inspire you?

Nick: Shout-outs to Leo DiCaprio for using his celebrity to draw attention to relevant global issues.

MPF: What’s your favorite movie of all time?

Nick: I have a personal Top 4 that stand above the rest I’ve seen, and they are 2001: A Space Odyssey, Seven Samurai, Pulp Fiction, and Apocalypse Now.

MPF: What are a couple of your hobbies?

Nick: I do a lot of stuff with music—play it, record it, mix it, listen to it all day and every night while I sleep. I’m also a huge nerd for Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. series—I host a bi-weekly tournament for the Wii U version. Our seventeenth tournament is coming up next week.

MPF: What made you interested in acting?

Nick: I’m a creative, and private as I often am, I need to bring what’s inside out.

MPF: Favorite color?

Nick: Cobalt blue.

MPF: Who is your favorite character in the UNWAVERING film?

Nick: Due to the fragmented structure of UNWAVERING, I chose not to read the script in full—only the parts relevant to Yusaf, so I could preserve the coldness and distance inherent to a hostage situation. I didn’t allow myself to like any of the characters.

MPF: Do you have any advice for aspiring actors?

Nick: Entertainment is a business; integrity is an investment.

Thank you again, Nick, for the outstanding performance! For information about the Grand Premiere of UNWAVERING be sure to sign up for the newsletter here: www.menningphotographicfilms.com/newsletter

Emily Geary | Actor Highlight | Meet the Cast | UNWAVERING

Posted on Posted in Actor Highlight, UNWAVERING

Today on the UNWAVERING Actor Highlight series we are featuring Emily Geary.

The role Emily played in UNWAVERING was Brittany. Brittany’s character is the stereotypical snobby, stuck up blonde that tries to get Sarah to follow in her questionable behavior. Emily is very sweet and sincere and nothing like this in real life. However, when she auditioned for the role she transformed into quite the vixen. She did a phenomenal job and truly brought her character to life!

Emily is involved with modeling and film projects and has been featured in music videos, fashion shows, independent films, and the hit TV series Outsiders. You learn more about Emily by visiting her website: Model Emily Geary

Screen Shot 2017-03-06 at 1.23.19 PM

Here are the questions we asked Emily:

MPF: What was your favorite part of filming for UNWAVERING?

Emily: I really loved filming the prom scene for Unwavering.  It was a lot of fun spending the day with the glam squad and getting ready with Katie.  It really felt like we were in high school again, getting to go to prom all over!

MPF: What’s your favorite role you’ve ever played?

Emily: Playing a core background character for two seasons on Outsiders, on WGN America, has been my favorite role to date.  I’ve spent so much time on set with the cast and crew that we’ve really become a little family.

MPF: Which actor(s) inspire you?

Emily: Margot Robbie.  I watched an interview once about her audition for The Wolf of Wall Street.  She said she knew she needed to do something to really stand out when she got a call back.  In the heat of the moment she slapped Leonardo DiCaprio in the face.  She said she couldn’t believe she hit him in the face and thought she was going to get arrested.  It takes some serious passion for the business to hit such a huge star in the face.  The fact that she had the guts to do that is simply amazing to me. She was basically an overnight sensation and her work proves why.

MPF: What’s your favorite movie of all time?

Emily: Pretty Woman.  I’m just obsessed with it, I’ve probably seen the movie a thousand times and I know all the lines.

MPF: What are a couple of your hobbies?

Emily: Acting and reading.

MPF: What made you interested in acting?

Emily: I started out modeling which led me to be cast as an extra in a few films, I immediately fell in love with being on set.  I just knew it was something I wanted to pursue further.

MPF: Favorite color?

Emily: White! (Pretty sure it hasn’t changed since my last interview for Gretchen’s Lock lol)

MPF: Who is your favorite character in the UNWAVERING film?
Emily: Sarah, just wait for the film and you’ll understand why.  Her strength and faith is admirable.

MPF: Do you have any advice for aspiring actors?

Emily: Never give up on your dreams and work as hard as you can to achieve them. The process may be tough, but the result is worth it.

Thank you, Emily, for your great performance! To see Emily in UNWAVERING you can get tickets for the Grand Premiere here: UNWAVERING Grand Premiere

Emily Kelly | Actor Highlight | MEET THE CAST | UNWAVERING

Posted on Posted in Actor Highlight, UNWAVERING

Today on the UNWAVERING Actor Highlight series we are featuring the fabulous Emily Kelly.

EM HEADSHOT

The role Emily played in UNWAVERING was Nicole. Nicole’s character was caring and easily influenced. From working with Emily in Gretchen’s Lock I knew should would be an incredible asset to have on the cast and she did a wonderful job!

Emily has been involved with many projects in the area and has a strong background in theater. She also has been working with fellow cast member, Jason Klingensmith, on Rivals.

To see her work and recent projects you can visit her Facebook page or IMDB page.

Screen Shot 2017-02-16 at 5.40.46 AM

Here are the questions we asked Emily:

MPF: What was your favorite part of filming for UNWAVERING?

Emily: My favorite part of filming for UNWAVERING was getting to work with such a talented group of actors. It was cool to get to share scenes with some old friends, but it was equally exciting to get to work with so much new talent, too. There’s such a wonderful network of actors in Northeast Ohio, and it’s always fun to see who you’ll meet and what new contacts you’ll make.

MPF: What’s your favorite role you’ve ever played?

Emily: It’s hard to choose a favorite role that I’ve ever played-Between the stage and the screen, I’ve been fortunate enough to build a pretty diverse resume of characters. I definitely had a good time diving into the role of mercenary space werewolf, FANG, in Renee Ebert’s WEREWOLVES FROM OUTER SPACE. I also had a great time playing the perpetually cranky, Jenn, in Menning Photographic Films’ GRETCHEN’S LOCK.

MPF: Which actor(s) inspire you?

Emily: I guess I’m most inspired by classically trained actors. I absolutely adore Benedict Cumberbatch. His performances are always so incredibly calculated and intelligent. He’s simply brilliant. I love Tom Hiddleston. His performances are always so effortless and smooth. On the flip-side of that, though, I love Tom Hardy, for a completely different reason. His characters are always so mesmerizing because he’s so utterly fearless. He’s manic and bold, making character choices that are always innovative and surprising.

MPF: What’s your favorite movie of all time?

Emily: My favorite movie of all time is “The Breakfast Club.” I think we’ve all had that moment in life where find ourselves thrust into an unlikely circumstance, with people we never imagined standing alongside. I’ve always wanted to adapt it for the stage, but it could never be the same. Besides, I’m WAY too old now to play Claire.

MPF: What are a couple of your hobbies?

Emily: When I’m not working during the week or shooting on the weekends, I have a few other things you’ll find me doing. Most days, you can find me at the gym, because I love to challenge myself to be better and stronger. You may find me behind a computer screen, because I’ve been trying to write more. My brain is full of screenplays, it’s just a matter of getting them all out! My favorite thing that you’ll catch me doing, though, is cosplaying with my daughter, Sidney. From DC and Marvel Comics to Star Wars, we love to hit the Comic Con circuit in homemade costumes. I think my favorite, so far, is our recent Deadpool and Cable cosplay at Pittsburgh’s Wizard World Comic Con.

MPF: What made you interested in acting?

Emily: I think the thing that made me the most interested in acting was the feeling of “home” that I got, from the very first time that I stepped on-stage. I was always a busy kid. I was in the band, the choir, cheerleading, church, academic team-You name it. Although I enjoyed all those things, I never felt the sense of truly belonging the way that I did when I was acting. I loved the rush of having all eyes on me. I loved the idea of being someone else for a time. For a kid who secretly wrestled with the social anxiety of fitting in, it was a time when all my worries disappeared.

MPF: Favorite color?

Emily: My favorite color has always been pink. It can be soft and feminine. It can be loud and brash. It’s the perfect color for a girl who loves to slip in and out of different characters. My first car was even magenta.

MPF: Who is your favorite character in the UNWAVERING film?

Emily: Without giving away too much, I would have to say that my favorite character in UNWAVERING is the collective unit that the girls in captivity become. You never know how you would handle yourself in a situation like they find themselves in, but you pray that you would handle it courageously and with conviction.

MPF: Do you have any advice for aspiring actors?

Emily: As I mentioned earlier, there’s an incredibly special network of actors in Northeast Ohio. The most important thing that I can tell actors, particularly ones around here, is that that network can lift you up or it can bury you. You never know who you’re working with, nor do you know who may see what you’re working on. Always approach every job with professionalism. Always be prompt and prepared. No matter how small the project, it could open the door to something much bigger!

Emily’s daughter Sidney even made a small appearance in UNWAVERING.

Brianna Burke | Actor Highlight | Meet the Cast | UNWAVERING

Posted on Posted in Actor Highlight, UNWAVERING

Today on the UNWAVERING Actor Highlight series we are featuring Brianna Burke.

The role Brianna played in UNWAVERING was Emily. Emily’s character is spunky and a bit fearless. When Brianna auditioned I could definitely feel her energy and her incredible talent emanated through her performance. While filming she kept the energy level up and brought her own life to the character.

Soon to be graduating high school, Brianna has had quite the filming career thus far. She started performing at the age of 6 and has been involved with over 34 productions, 8 dance teams, and has danced at Disney twice. To see the films she’s been involved with you can visit her IMDB page

Screen Shot 2017-03-14 at 8.22.25 AM

Here are the questions we asked Brianna:

MPF: What was your favorite part of filming for UNWAVERING?

Brianna: My favorite part of filming Unwavering was all the amazing and talented people I got the chance to meet. Being one of the youngest actors in the film for the certain scenes I was in (16 at the time), was certainly nerve racking. Everyone on set felt like family, considering we were together from sunrise to sundown some days. We all share tight bonds that continue today. Everyone was so driven and hardworking. It was truly an amazing group.

MPF: Which actor(s) inspire you?

Brianna: One of my most inspirational actors I look up to is Ellen DeGeneres. She is so talented and has such a natural knack for acting. You can clearly tell how much she enjoys her job and how much happiness it brings her, which is the most important aspect for me. She is also very unique and lets that shine through her work which I have all kinds of respect for.

MPF: What are a couple of your hobbies?

Brianna: I have many hobbies, as many as any 17 year old girl would have. I have been performing since I could remember on stage. I have done many many musicals, straight plays, and dance team. I have even performed in Disney World twice. Aside from acting, singing, and dancing, I love to cheer. I joined High School Varsity cheer in 2014 and fell in love with it ever since. Being under the Friday night lights with my best friends was such a great experience. I also enjoy being active and fashion blogging. My best friend and I started a fashion blog together in 2016 and it’s something we both put all our heart in. As any senior in high school, I am always with my friends and at basketball and football games! It’s something I will miss come graduation!

MPF: What made you interested in acting?

Brianna: I started acting when I was 6, and sure I could make up some story about how I remember exactly why I wanted to act when I first started, but obviously I do not remember.  As I got older however, I realized why I began acting. I love getting to portray another person. It’s truly a cool thing to do. You totally escape reality and get to entertain the world with a role which may just touch their heart.

MPF: Favorite color?

Brianna: As cliche as it is, I am a girly girl and PINK is my favorite! No shame!

MPF: Who is your favorite character in the UNWAVERING film?
Brianna: My favorite character in this film was definitely the pastor. He was so convincing and put his heart and soul into it and it made me so happy!

MPF: Do you have any advice for aspiring actors?

Brianna: My advice to any aspiring actors, never ever stop doing what you love. If you are like me, then you look at all these other occupations in the world, trying to figure out which one will make you happiest, and acting is always at the top of the list. Doing what you love everyday means you will never have to work a day in your life. Acting jobs come in waves, and once that wave hits I promise all kinds of opportunities will come. Stay patient. Stay kind. Stay driven. Pray. Live life. And always be the best you can be!

Thank you, Brianna, for your energetic performance! To see her in UNWAVERING you can get tickets for the Grand Premiere here: UNWAVERING Grand Premiere

Emily Rusu | Actor Highlight | Meet the Cast | UNWAVERING

Posted on Posted in Actor Highlight, UNWAVERING

Today we continue with the UNWAVERING Actor Highlight series with Emily Rusu.

EmilyHeadshotThe role Emily played in UNWAVERING was Tara, another girl that was in captivity. Emily brought forth her own personality to the character and changed the dynamic between the girls which was great. Emily’s passion and willingness to do anything to help out the production made her a great asset to UNWAVERING.

Emily and her husband, Bill, who helped on UNWAVERING as a grip, film incredible wedding videos and own Jet Wedding Videography, and Emily is part owner of Jet Creative which is a marketing and design company based in Youngstown, Ohio.

Screen Shot 2017-03-06 at 5.13.28 AMHere are the questions we asked Emily:

MPF: What was your favorite part of filming for UNWAVERING?

Emily: My favorite scene to shoot was the last scene. It was shot very late at night on the forth day of shooting, so we were all a little silly from being sleep deprived! I don’t want to give too much away about the last scene though 😉

MPF: What’s your favorite role you’ve ever played?

Emily: I was a TV personality for a couple of years on a local children’s show, Homework Express. I got to act silly multiple times a week. My segment was “Word of the Day”, which is exactly what it sounds. I’d take a weird word from the dictionary and define it, doing more than just read the definition. However, my role in Unwavering was the longest and most intense role I’ve had, so that’s up there!

MPF: Which actor(s) inspire you?

Emily: I have a lot of favorite actors, it’s hard to say which specifically inspire me the most. A lot of good actors are so good, that I don’t think about the fact that they’re acting!

However, when shooting Unwavering I was impressed by Katie C’etta, who played Sarah. I got to see how she worked behind the scenes and how her acting methods came off on camera. Her commitment to her role was incredibly inspiring!

MPF: What’s your favorite movie of all time?

Emily: Can I say ALL the Marvel movies?

MPF: What are a couple of your hobbies?

Emily: I love to write, do video production, read, play video games, and eat pizza (is that a hobby?).

MPF: What made you interested in acting?

Emily: In middle school I discovered my love of musicals and Broadway. So, I got involved in the theater department and was in a performance all four years of high school. Then, I went to school for video production. While I love working behind the camera, I took opportunities to get in front of it as well.

MPF: Favorite color?

Emily: Hmm… Purple? No, blue. No, wait… ??

MPF: Who is your favorite character in the UNWAVERING film?

Emily: While Sarah is the obvious choice, I always appreciate a well written villain. I’m going to say the villain that was played by Nicholas Baronzzi (not that I LIKE him, but he’s an interesting character). You start out thinking one thing about him, and then he twists your emotions around and make you feel so many things towards him and the situation.

MPF: Do you have any advice for aspiring actors?

Emily: Get involved and make connections. You can’t be scared to talk to new people or put yourself out there. Not even just for acting, but anything you want to be involved in.

Thank you, Emily, for being involved with this film! For information about the Grand Premiere of UNWAVERING (ANNOUNCEMENT COMING SOON!) be sure to sign up for the newsletter here:

Theresa Wylie | Actor Highlight | Meet the Cast | UNWAVERING

Posted on Posted in Actor Highlight, UNWAVERING

Today on the UNWAVERING Actor Highlight series we are featuring the lovely Theresa Wylie.

TheresaWylie10

Terry played the role of Sarah’s mother, Kathy. The script hit home with Terry because her own daughter got engaged and married around the same time she first read it. How’s that for coincidence?

Terry is very sweet and loving and it showed through the video audition she submitted. Without meeting her or talking to her in person I could feel the passion and warmth from her audition and I knew she was the perfect fit for the role.

Terry has been involved in some pretty great films such as Banger, Dog Eat Dog, and the recent horror film Bye Bye Man. You can read more about Terry and the projects she’s been involved with by going to her website http://theresawylie.weebly.com/

Screen Shot 2017-02-03 at 7.23.58 AM

Here are the questions we asked Terry:

MPF: What was your favorite part of filming for UNWAVERING?

Terry: My favorite part was working with the amazing cast and crew.  They were all so talented and hard working.  I’ve made some life long friendships!

MPF: What’s your favorite role you’ve ever played?

Terry: It’s too hard to pick a favorite.  I’ve enjoyed them all!  What I loved about playing Kathy was that I could really relate to this character.   My own daughter was also engaged and getting married.  The script seemed oddly familiar and I remember joking with Josh that I felt like he must have been to my house when he wrote the script.  ?

MPF: Which actor(s) inspire you?

Terry: I’m a big fan of Meryl Streep, Sandra Bullock, and Debra Messing.

MPF: What’s your favorite movie of all time?

Terry: Hard to pick an absolute favorite but some I love are:  Forrest Gump,  The Devil Wears Prada,  The Proposal,  A Beautiful Mind

MPF: What are a couple of your hobbies?

Terry: In the summer, I just love being outdoors hiking or biking.  We have a lot of great parks nearby but we also love to throw our bikes in the car and check out new places.  In the winter, I like reading murder mysteries and making puzzles while counting down the days until summer.

MPF: What made you interested in acting?

Terry: I didn’t get started until later in life but I’ve always had an interest in relationships and what motivates people to do things.  I remember watching plays and movies as a kid and wondering how I could get involved.  It’s been such an amazing experience getting to explore my creative side when developing a character.

MPF: Favorite color?

Terry: Red

MPF: Who is your favorite character in the UNWAVERING film?

Terry: Sarah, my daughter, of course!  I love her strength.

MPF: Do you have any advice for aspiring actors?

Terry: Network!  You can learn a lot from your fellow actors.  Also, don’t be too hard on yourself.  It’s a learning process and there will be a lot of disappointments.  That’s just part of it.  Another opportunity is right around the corner.  Work hard, be friendly, and believe in your training.  Never pay to audition or be represented!

Posted on Posted in Actor Highlight, UNWAVERING

Continuing on the UNWAVERING Actor Highlight series, today we are featuring Joe Morales.

In UNWAVERING Joe plays Tom who is the boyfriend of Sarah’s best friend Brittany. I was looking for someone who was cool, laid back, and charming. Of course, we chose Joe to fit that part.

Joe is very talented and has been a part of several films in the past couple years. He also is involved with radio and we’ve worked with him in Gretchen’s Lock.

Here are the questions we asked Joe:

MPF: What was your favorite part of filming for UNWAVERING?

Joe: My favorite part of filming Unwavering was getting to reunite with some of the Gretchen’s Lock cast and crew. It is always a pleasure to see all of the familiar faces and meet the incredibly talented new faces I had not gotten to work with before. What makes it even better is that everyone is just so kind and each person just wants to make a great film. I also liked getting to ride in a hummer limo for the first time and getting dressed up for prom again brought back good memories from high school.

MPF: What is your favorite role you have ever played?

Joe: It is very difficult to pick a favorite role I have played. They all serve many purposes and are vastly different from each other. I have gotten to play the good guy, the bad guy and the not so great guy, each of those being a learning experience. My favorite roles though are always the more comedic ones, such as Luke, a Chinese man who is addicted to gambling, in Anything Goes. What was fun about that role was making people laugh. I had to attempt a Chinese accent that I did rather poorly, and I had a scene where I lost my clothes in strip poker so I had to take off my robe and show some skin. It was embarrassing to say the least because I was and am a little on the scrawny side and this all happened when I was a freshman in high school where everything is awkward anyway, but it got people to laugh and made it all worth it.

I also enjoy getting to voice Lt. Adam Carson, a character from The Topnotch Tangler which is a segment of It’s All Been Done Radio Hour. The segment is in a superhero universe and Lt. Adam Carson works for the police department. He is always too eager and over joyed to help the superheroes save the city so it is nice to be someone who is usually happy. Check it out at www.itsallbeendoneradiohour.com and take a listen to the other segments of the show, along with the other programs we take part in with It’s All Been Done Presents at www.iabdpresents.com

MPF: Which actor(s) inspire you?

Joe: There are so many fantastic actors out there. The two actors that have always inspired me are Johnny Depp and Tom Hanks. Depp mainly plays very eccentric characters that have a tendency to go outside the box while Hanks plays many down to earth, but also very deep roles that have such power. Andrew Garfield has also become an inspiration to me because as I knew him as playing the snarky teenager Peter Parker from Spider Man, I recently watched him in Hacksaw Ridge and I was in awe. He brought such raw emotion to the role and I bet the real Desmond Doss would have been proud.

MPF: What is your favorite movie of all time?

Joe: John Carpenter’s Halloween will forever be my favorite movie. Aside from the performances and the cinematography, the score is what makes it just so creepy.

MPF: What are some of your hobbies?

Joe: I really enjoy going to the movies with friends, watching television, listening to music, taking my dogs for a walk and swimming. I have wanted to get more involved in photography and get back into music, but life gets in the way and I have not made time for that.

MPF: What made you interested in acting?

Joe: When I was little, my mom would tape my brother, sister, cousins, friends and myself doing skits of The Maury Show and Jerry Springer. We even did spoofs of Rush Hour, Tomb Raider, and A Nightmare on Elm Street. It essentially became our childhood and from there, I realized I enjoyed entertaining people with different characters from stories I wanted to tell. I then got into plays and musicals throughout middle and high school and after college, I started getting more into acting.

MPF: Favorite color?

Joe: Tie between Blue and Green, but I also really like Red to.

MPF: Who is your favorite character in the UNWAVERING film?

Joe: I have not gotten to see any of the film thus far, but from the script, my favorite character is Yusaf. What I like about the character is that you do not really know where he stands. At one moment, he seems to want to help the girls and cares about what is happening. Then he is the complete opposite. It is that mystery of whether or not he is good or bad. Even though I haven’t seen it yet, I know that Nick plays it extraordinarily well.

MPF: Do you have any advice for aspiring actors?

Joe: “If you dream of doing it, make it come true.” Even though the options are best in the big cities like Los Angeles and New York City, Ohio has many options for aspiring actors and filmmakers alike that make it happen, as the Mennings do with their films. Sometimes, it just takes some passionate dreamers to make something happen.
